Panama City: The Most Beautiful Sidewalks in the World

You would not believe how much Panama City has to offer.  As described by our first couchsurfing host, "Panama City is AWESOME!"  When we asked him what he likes to do on a Friday night, he responded, "There is this street with this really nice sidewalk."  He couldn't have been more right on.  These sidewalks are phenomenal (as is the rest of this country).

Our couchsurfing hosts, Lisa and Josue, have been giving us a wonderful tour of Panama City...live music,  great food, breathtaking bicycle rides into the sunset, and, of course, long walks on the sidewalk...

Those sidewalks do look pretty lovely - I'm glad you are paying them the homage they deserve : )

What is going on with Alisa's hair in the middle photo??

I love you, you crazy bloggers! I check this blog every day, and I laugh out loud so much that John comes over to my computer to read over my shoulder to find out why I keep laughing. Nothing here in the States compares in excitement - except the Democratic primaries I guess. (In 48 hours the Texas and Ohio results will be in, and most likely we will Know Our Fate!) Tess, do you remember our friend Bruce? He has a sister who has lived in Costa Rica, I'm going to find out if she is still there. In the meanwhile, still no final word on my Capetown schedule, I'll write again soon, love you to pieces, aunt Judy

So instead of doing homework like a good academic student I stumbled upon Alisa's facebook which led me to your wonderful blog.

I have since read all of your entries and think about all the crazy adventures you two are having.

Take good notes of your explorations in South America PLEASE because I am planning a trip there with a couple of friends after my own graduation:)

Keep blogging because your descriptions are magical.

Lots of Santa Clara love to you both.

It is so great that Alisa is posting all this information and keeping the blog so organized and professional. Or wait, now that I remember who Alisa is, Tessa is doing a really good job with this blog.

tessalove!!!

i stumbled back upon your blog tonight... and am having a load of fun just reading about your adventures with alisa -- you two are hilarious and beyond awesome.

i wanted to let you know that i have lots of contacts in nicaragua if you want to go to some beautiful places (ummm... of course!). do you two speak spanish? (or one of you?) ...

my love of nicaragua is the small town of waslala... a bus from managua to matagalpa... and then another 6 hours to waslala... up in the northern mountains in the RAAN. it's where i spent my summer. it has a beautiful community filled with lots of my friends. you can stay at the parish there with the priests... or probably with my host family too. someone will probably need to speak spanish though.

ALSO... you should go to miraflor... outside of esteli... they have a real nice eco-tourism project that really focuses on sustainable living and organic coffee etc. the organization is called the UCA and you can find them in Esteli to arrange a homestay in Miraflor.

as for the rest of c. america... boquete is a beautiful place in northern panama... c. rica is beautiful (but really touristy)... if you stay in san jose the friends peace center is wonderful. el salvador has the center for solidaridad us-el salvador in the city of san salvador... and they do good work.

email me at meaghan.gruber@gmail.com with any questions. if one of you speaks spanish go to waslala! it's the most magical place in the world. :)

sending love and strong energy and rainbow butterflies,
meag
